GENERAL CONDITIONS: Temporary stable weather conditions and gradually warmer due to high pressure between Saturday and Sunday. Between Monday and Tuesday a new Atlantic trough together with somewhat fresher air will affect the Alps; weather conditions will therefore turn unsettled. Westerly currents providing for changeable and warm weather.
FORECAST VALID FOR THE AFTERNOON-EVENING OF SATURDAY 31: Very sunny, and mostly clear everywhere. Minor cumuli will non affect the sunshine. Warm and pleasant during the day thanks to very dry air. Possible formation of clouds at low altitudes during the night.
SUNDAY 1: Sunny. Possible low clouds early in the morning, rapidly clearing. Mostly clear sky everywhere or slightly overcast due to cumuli in the warmest hours. Only on Northern Dolomites, possible thicker patches during the day which might lead to short and isolated rainshowers or thundershowers in the afternoon/evening (10%). Summer day temperatures.
Temperatures: Further increasing at all altitudes. At 2000 m: min 10°C, max 19°C; at 3000 m min 6°C, max 10°C.
Winds: Light/moderate breezes in the valleys; North-westerly rotating South-westerly light wind at high altitudes, 5-10 km/h at 2000 m, 10-20 km/h at 3000 m.
MONDAY 2: Mostly sunny and warm in the morning, turning to cloudy with cumuli from the Dolomites. In the afternoon chance of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, especially on the Dolomites (40/50%), less likely on the Prealps (20%), widespreading in the night (50/70%)
Temperatures: Further rising low temperatures in the valleys, almost unchanged in the evening at high altitudes; almost unchanged high temperatures on the valley floors, slightly falling at high altitudes. At 2000 m: min 10°C, max 16°C; at 3000 m min 5°C, max 8°C.
Winds: Light breezes in the valleys; South-westerly moderate at high altitudes, 5-20 km/h at 2000 m, 15-35 km/h at 3000 m.
TUESDAY 3: Changeable/unstable weather conditions, with rainshowers in the night and in the morning; improving in the afternoon starting from the Dolomites, more persistent in the Prealps. No precipitations anywhere in the evening.
WEDNESDAY 4: Quite sunny, cumuli and isolated rainshowers in the afternoon. Forecaster: G.M.
